Impetus for Innovation
Connect * Re-/Think Together * Expand Ideas
As an independent academic think tank, NI²N has the mission to connect, develop, and promote interdisciplinary approaches in neurodegeneration research, with focus on Alzheimer’s Disease and related pathologies.
Our aims
NI²N is committed to science and focuses on Alzheimer’s Disease and related neuropathologies with the aim not to replace but to expand current hypotheses for the understanding of neurodegenerative disorders.
As a scientific networking platform, NI²N aims to:
Connect – we initiate scientific discussions, bringing together scientists in the field of AD research and other neurodegenerative diseases, to openly exchange knowledge, opinions, and ideas.
Think/Rethink together – we would like to address neurodegeneration research from new perspectives, highlighting findings that have not yet been (sufficiently) considered, in the search for “loose ends” to connect them anew.
Create impetus – we aim at expanding and complementing previous and current Alzheimer-Hypotheses (e.g., Amyloid-Hypothesis, Tau-Hypothesis, Oxidative Stress-Hypothesis, etc.) to create fresh perspectives for research approaches
Promote innovative research – we proactively initiate/encourage individual research projects, e.g. in the context of PhD/MD theses in the life sciences (with the possibility of funding).
