Syntophagy Seminar with Prof. Christian Behl @Charité Berlin
As part of the Seminar Series 2025 of the Synthophagy Research Unit 5228, Prof. Dr. Christian Behl from the Institute of Pathobiochemistry of the University Medical Center Mainz will give a talk on “The dilemma of Alzheimer’s disease research and how to escape it“.
The talk is hosted by Prof. Dr. Britta Eickholt from the Charité Berlin and will take place on Tuesday, May 6th at 15:00/3pm.

Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) are devastating neurodegenerative conditions that cause cognitive decline and place a significant burden on individuals, families, and communities worldwide. A National Academies committee has assessed current research and identified priorities for preventing and treating AD/ADRD.

Time for a Paradigm Shift: Rethinking Alzheimer’s Disease Research
On June 6th 2024 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm at UC Berkeley
The DWIH San Francisco and the Henry Wheeler Center for Emerging and Neglected Diseases (CEND) at UC Berkeley will host Dr. Christian Behl, Professor at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, who will introduce his book on Alzheimer’s Disease research. Following the introduction, there will be a moderated discussion with Dr. Julia Schaletzky, Executive Director of the Henry Wheeler Center for Emerging and Neglected Diseases (CEND) at UC Berkeley and Dr. Michael Rapé, Professor, HHMI Investigator, and Dr. K. Peter Hirth Chair of Cancer Biology Dept of Molecular & Cell Biology at UC Berkeley.
